The Massachusetts Chimney Sweep Guild Code of Ethics

We accept and acknowledge that membership in the Massachusetts Chimney Sweep Guild carries with it certain responsibilities and obligation. In this regard we pledge to:

A chimney professional, wearing proper respiratory equipment, completes the removal of a fireplace as part of a restoration process.

We agree to dedicate ourselves to these principles during the term of our membership. We understand that failure to abide by these ethical obligations is a violation of MCSG policy and may result in disciplinary action. We agree to hold harmless the MCSG organization and its officers from liability resulting from any disciplinary action taken against our firms or us.

Our Mission Statement

Our members strive to be the best professional chimney technicians possible in servicing our customer's chimney and venting needs. The Massachusetts Chimney Sweep Guild accomplishes this challenge by requiring its members to be CSIA Certified, to obtain continuing education in the latest technical and safety advancements. We adhere to a code of ethics established and updated by the Massachusetts Chimney Sweep Guild. We promote and establish good customer relations through honesty, integrity, and commitment to public education in the proper use and maintenance of chimney and venting systems.
