We often take it for granted—though we know it isn’t true—that flue gases will go up and out of the chimney every time. In this class, we will explore the science of why and how flue gases exit chimneys. We will cover system design, house issues that affect venting negatively, external factors, and solutions to venting problems. The goal of this class is to explain the relationship between the pressures inside a chimney which create “Draft and Flow” and how they are affected by the pressures inside the house and the outside atmosphere. A house functions as a system, and in this class, we will explore how and why air flows in and out of the building envelope.

*Comes with a FREE 1-year MCSG membership!
